PowerView Overview
PowerView is a powerful and flexible information-display applet, similar in style to the Details view of a folder in Windows Explorer. An unlimited number of column headers can be displayed in a row at the top of the applet. Below each header, an unlimited number of items can be displayed, creating rows of related information. Items in the first column may have an icon-image beside them. Any item (in any row or column) can act as a link, with CSS-style mouse-hover reactivity. Each column can optionally be given its own background color.

Far from just displaying data and providing links, PowerView has many useful features:

  • Clicking any column header can sort the items in that column, toggling between alphabetical and counter-alphabetical sorting.

  • Scroll buttons are added automatically to allow the user to scroll hidden items into view.

  • Each column (and its items) can be aligned to the left, center or right.

  • Columns are self-sizing, and our unique Testmode parameter tells you the ideal dimensions for the applet.

  • An optional selector bar can highlight a selected row (and the same row remains selected when sorting), and users can move up and down in the list using the keyboard's arrow buttons.

Full color, font and style options are provided, including individual colors for the optional column and row dividers, row padding and column spacing settings, and sound support. PowerView also supports the unique Cool Focus 'Satellite' system, allowing additional information to be displayed anywhere in the browser when the mouse moves over a column or item.
